The Horse Chestnut, Aesculus hippocastanum is a large avenue or parkland tree growing with a large spreading canopy requiring plenty of space. A popular and classic tree seen all over Great Britain. It will grow rapidly on moist soils.
Whilst the timber is soft and of limited use, generations of children eagerly await the autumn bounty of the traditional "conker".
The current height of these trees is approximately 15-30cm and they can be planted out all year round.
